Title: Distribution Center Utility Person
Reports to: Shift Supervisor/Lead
POSITION OBJECTIVES

This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment and assisting forklift operators with daily assignments.
Due to the dynamic nature of our business, duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of management, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Keep the break area neat and clean at all times
- Keep all restrooms clean, sanitized and restocked at all times
- Empty trashcans from the offices.
- Empty and clean all warehouse trash containers
- Safely and correctly use chemicals and proper procedures to clean.
- Maintain and operate the powered floor scrubber/sweeper in accordance with the cleaning schedule (safely and correctly)
- Keep the facility clean and up to all health and GMP standards. This is to include but is not limited to: mopping, sweeping, dusting, cleaning walls, and running the floor sweeper/scrubber
- General cleaning of ceilings, lights, walkways, ledges, beams, perimeters and racks (may including operating machinery that extends into the air – JLG Lift)
- Light project work as assigned, including but not limited to: recasing, stickering, placard application, damage, module building
- Adhere to all Red Gold policies, rules and regulations, including GMP’s and safety rules
- Develop a sense of pride and ownership with regards to your duties
- Other duties as assigned
- Responsible for monitoring, record keeping, and taking appropriate action for specified Food Safety Plan, Food Quality Plan and prerequisite program requirements.
- Responsible to report food safety and quality issues to management.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Education
- High School Diploma, General Educational Development Diploma (GED) or equivalent experience
Specific Skills Required
- Must be able to successfully use basic math, writing, and reading skills necessary to complete the required paperwork and projects.
- Must pass Red Gold fork lift certification requirements
- Must be able to operate the floor scrubber and sweeper in confined spaces
- Must be able to operate a pallet wrapper
- Must be fluent and functional in English

Physical Requirements

- Must be able to use both hands and arms for long periods of time (sweep and mop)
- Must be able to work inside and outside
- Must be able to bend, kneel and crawl for extended periods of time
- Must be able to work general labor stations for short periods of time
- Must be able to work at other Red Gold facilities when directed by Management
On the Job Training
- Learn to operate the floor scrubber and sweeper
- Training in the proper handling of chemical cleaners
- Learn location system in warehouse
- Learn to identify specific types of dunnage
- Learn to operate a stretch wrapper
- Learn the proper storage procedures for various types of dunnage
- Learn to operate the different types of fork lifts and pallet jacks
